Danville Alamo Children & Family Photography : Josie & Jackie

I spent a great afternoon recently at Amy’s house to photograph both Jackie and Josie.  This is my second time photographing Jackie but the first time for Josie.  I think that compared to weddings, it’s more of a challenge to photograph kids since they’re pretty tough to keep still for a second!  Jackie seemed much quicker than last time since she was a blur in her pink dress while running away from me most of the time.  After a little bit, she settled down and I was able to get some cute pictures of her. I then went inside and took some pictures of Josie.  I think that photographing kids can be captured in the following:
Challenge:

1) Toddlers like to run away as fast as they can and they sure are fast!

2) They can shift emotions pretty quick which makes it unpredictable at times

3) Unless you have candy or a toy, cooperation can be difficult at times

4) Unlike a wedding, staged shots can be nearly impossible

Rewards:

1) Their playfulness is priceless

2) Seeing them grown up is awesome

3) Impossible to direct = true emotion = priceless

4) Is there’s anything cuter than kids?

Danville Alamo Family & Children Photography : Jackie

Yesterday I finally had a chance to photograph my coworker’s daughter Jackie. She was showing me the little berries in her backyard and calling them tomatoes. That was the cutest thing ever! She is only two years old and she already has that sophisticated look on her face, looks like she’s trying to analyze everything around her. I have no doubt that she is a smart girl and will be very successful when she grows up.

Peekaboo!

Little tomatoes!

San Ramon Family & Children Photography : Landon

Baby pictures are not easy to take. They move around a lot and can get very emotional, so that makes taking baby pictures kindda difficult. On the other hand, they will never give you a fake smile or a fake cry. Whatever caught on camera is the true emotions…priceless emotions. The part that I found out about baby photography is the importance of timing. They are in their best moods after feeding and pooping. DO NOT bother them when they need a nap or a meal. DO NOT attempt to take pictures of them after 6 pm unless you want to record cranky babies. DO NOT take pictures of new born for more than 30 minutes and 1 hour for 2-5 years old unless you want them to start crying. There are many rules you need to follow and THAT’S that make baby photography difficult.

But I LOVE taking baby pictures!!! they are just so cute and precious. It’s just amazing how fast they grow especially during the first year. I feel honored to have a chance to record their physical and emotional growth. The feeling is…what can I say..Priceless.
