I have been trying to create my brand since early September 2008 and had the hardest time creating a logo. I had no idea where to start or how I wanted my logo to be, until I sat down with my friend and brainstormed my logo together. The only criteria that I wanted was to implement my initial ‘JC’ into the logo, then my friend was smart enough to draw the ‘JC’ as the wings of a butterfly! Butterfly signifies me because Jeff and I have released butterflies during our wedding ceremony, we also have butterfly hairpins on me and and on each of my bridesmaids. There were also butterflies mating right in front of our eyes right after our wedding ceremony!
Few days after we have the logo rough draft, I submitted the sketch to a logo company, one of those advertised as ‘$99 logo’ on Yahoo. However I did not think the logo was good enough to represent me. This was pretty much the exact same drawing we had created on paper, however it didn’t look right as a logo.
About a month later I have found ‘For the Love of Creating’ and I asked Ashely to re-design the logo for me. I was a little disappointed that she needed to put me on a waiting list for few month before she could get to my project, however I know it’s worth the wait and I have faith in her that she was able to transform my not-so-pretty butterfly into a awesome looking butterfly.
My logo looks a lot more professional now and you can see my initial ‘JC’ if you stare at the butterfly long enough!
