Bay Area Boudoir Photography : Misty

Misty and I were a little nervous in the beginning for our boudoir photo shoot. It was my first time ever shooting a boudoir session and I was trying to work out a nice flow for the photos.  Misty was great to work with since she knew that it was my first boudoir photo shoot and we had a lot of fun.  It took me a little while looking through the house to find the right lighting but after a bit there were some great locations that really showed off her beauty.   Shooting a boudoir session is very similar to shooting portraits, but instead of having the subjects look pretty and sophisticated, they need to look hot and sexy.  I had a lot of fun and enjoyed every moment of the session. Thanks Misty for this opportunity and I will see you next month for your wedding!

Treasure Island Wedding Photography : April + Wil : Part II

The reception was a new experience for me since I’ve never been photographed weddings at Treasure Island before. The Pavilion by the Bay was a large fixed Pavilion with glass windows facing out to the San Francisco Bay with a beautiful view of the city skyline. The fabric and lights that decorated the pavilion were so pretty! One of the things that struck me when I got there was that there were bowls of A&W Root Beer candies at each table and low and behold April and Wil’s initials matched up! Great favors and great toasts as the night went on with cans of A&W Root Beer. One of the moments that set the night off well was the really creative slideshow from one of their cousin’s that had a lot of cute pictures of both April and Wil as children. That drew a lot of laughs from the guests. But not to be left out, wedding cinematographer Aaron provided a really awesome same day video which got the guests attention to see what had just happened hours before on screen in front of them. Very cool. April and Wil were very cool as well and good sports to let me take them outside at night in front of the windy bay to take some last second photos before the night ended.

Venue: Pavilion By The Bay

Florist : Green Works

Make Up and Hair Artist: Triple Twist

Catering : Wine Valley Catering

Videographer: Aaron Lee Films

San Francisco Wedding Photography : April + Wil : Part I

I was really excited to photograph April and Wil’s wedding since I knew talking to their wedding coordinator that there were going to be some pretty awesome things happening that evening. The day started in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Beautiful and placed right on Market Street, I went upstairs to do some preparation photos with April. She was just finishing up and she brought out her beautiful dress. I was able to get her bridesmaids in the room and we got some awesome shots. Aaron Lee and Dominic were doing the cinematography for their wedding and it was great working with them again. Jennifer from Candid Moments Weddings came along as my second and was helping out with the grooms and some other detail shots at the time. Anyway, we went downstairs after the guys left for the church and took some absolutely stunning shots in the magnificent lobby downstairs. The ceilings were so high and elegantly decorated. I wish that I could have spent all day there taking shots.

We moved onto the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo) which was not too far away in San Francisco. The parking was pretty tough but luckily for most of the guests, there was a shuttle bus that could take them there. The church was very well lighted with large windows on both sides and a beautiful skylight. During the ceremony, there was a choir singing beautiful hymns in the background. As both April and Wil exchanged vows, you could tell on their faces that they were so happy! A lot of family and friends wanted to get some pictures in before we moved onto the Palace of Fine Arts for some quick pictures before the reception.
