Danville Alamo Children & Family Photography : Josie & Jackie

I spent a great afternoon recently at Amy’s house to photograph both Jackie and Josie.  This is my second time photographing Jackie but the first time for Josie.  I think that compared to weddings, it’s more of a challenge to photograph kids since they’re pretty tough to keep still for a second!  Jackie seemed much quicker than last time since she was a blur in her pink dress while running away from me most of the time.  After a little bit, she settled down and I was able to get some cute pictures of her. I then went inside and took some pictures of Josie.  I think that photographing kids can be captured in the following:
Challenge:

1) Toddlers like to run away as fast as they can and they sure are fast!

2) They can shift emotions pretty quick which makes it unpredictable at times

3) Unless you have candy or a toy, cooperation can be difficult at times

4) Unlike a wedding, staged shots can be nearly impossible

Rewards:

1) Their playfulness is priceless

2) Seeing them grown up is awesome

3) Impossible to direct = true emotion = priceless

4) Is there’s anything cuter than kids?

San Ramon Children & Family Photography : Landon

I met Landon’s daddy when he was still a student at Kaiser Medical Center, Walnut Creek.  I met him again at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek when he was doing his pharmacy rotation, and found out he only lives a few blocks from my house. Like most of the students that come in, we evaluate our students their backs, and Justin is not an exception. The only impression that he gave to almost everybody, is not how hard to learns or how smart he is, but how much he talks about his house and his wife Colette. He pretty much talked about Colette everyday during his 6 weeks rotation in John Muir Medical Center, and at the same time I wonder if Jeff talks about me everyday at his work…..

Justin and Colette are also my neighbor. We all live in the Windemere community in San Ramon. We can literally walk to their house, although it would take about 20 minutes. San Ramon is such a nice city for a growing family. There are so many parks within the community, and the school system is also excellent.

I’m so grateful that I have this opportunity to photograph Landon’s 1st year birthday. He’s the cutest 1 year old on earth and the best gift that Colette and Landon have, besides the two very precious Yorkies that they have.  It was a good day to do shoots both in the morning and at night.  We did the studio session before the sun came out and heated up our house and then went to the nearby park to do some shots around the playground.  Landon wasn’t fussy and really started to get into the shoot once mommy and daddy entertained him.

Empress Yacht Sausalito Wedding Photography : Nicole & Kurt: Preview

I’ve been wanting to shoot Nicole and Kurt’s wedding since their engagement session at the DeYoung Museum last year, because I knew it would be a beautiful wedding. Seriously, what can beat the sunset in the beautiful San Francisco bay, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge? The view was breathtaking, Nicole looked gorgeous.

My apology to Nicole and Kurt that it took me so long to post a few pictures. Jeff has been sick for the past week so I had to concentrate on him instead of my computer. I promise that  I’ll post more pictures very soon!!

Danville Alamo Family & Children Photography : Jackie

Yesterday I finally had a chance to photograph my coworker’s daughter Jackie. She was showing me the little berries in her backyard and calling them tomatoes. That was the cutest thing ever! She is only two years old and she already has that sophisticated look on her face, looks like she’s trying to analyze everything around her. I have no doubt that she is a smart girl and will be very successful when she grows up.

Peekaboo!

Little tomatoes!
