Moss Beach Wedding Photography : Alexis & Craig
On a cool and slightly drizzly Saturday at Moss Beach, Alexis and Craig were married at a beach front home overlooking the wavy ocean. The view was breathtaking with the waves hitting the beach just a few steps away from the ceremony. Most of the guests immediately walked out of the shuttles and off to the beach to get a look in before settling into their seats or finding room to stand. Craig and his groomsmen were there early which let me take some shots of them around the area. He was really easy going and a little nervous heading into the ceremony. We got some great shots before Alexis arrived before the ceremony with bridesmaids in tow behind her. With their friend officiating over the ceremony and a little humor from the vows, Alexis and Craig exchanged vows and were husband and wife. Alexis’ dress was really pretty and the flowers that she chose fit perfectly with the decorations for their wedding. After a few shots of the family and friends, everyone left to Alexis’ childhood home for the reception.
Before Alexis and Craig settled into the reception, they took us to wooded area nearby to get some shots in. It’s not just an ordinary forest, but the forest where the opening scene of Memoir of a Geisha was filmed. They weren’t kidding when they said that it was beautiful. Sweeping views of the ocean and tall trees with great canopies provided some of the more impressive shots that I’ve taken at a wedding so far. I could tell how much they loved each other through some of the looks that I saw through my camera during that time. It was even more so as we waited for them to make their grand entrance that we could see them talking and laughing at a distance from the house. Once Alexis and Craig made it into their reception the party kicked off. Albeit a little tight, everyone made room for talking, dancing, and (something new for me) African Drum Dance.

San Francisco Golden Gate Park Engagement: Julie & Ryan
This was my first time meeting Julie and Ryan, two weeks before their big day in Carmel. Julie just graduated from nursing school and accepted a job in Reno. They decided to do their engagement session few weeks ago so Julie drove over to San Francisco the night before and Ryan took a day off from work. We planned to take some pictures inside the DeYoung Museum, but unfortunately King Tut and his crew were visiting from Egypt and they told me that I needed a special permit, which I did not have, to photograph the engagement session inside the museum. Then we walked over the the garden area hoping to take few shots there, but the security guard did not give us permission to enter so we decided to walked over to the Japanese Tea Garden. It was beautiful as always and no special permit was needed for photographing.
I love being here on a weekday. There were a lot less tourists on a Thursday than a Saturday, which made the Golden Gate Park much more enjoyable. The koi ponds and the trees had a special calming effect on me that I wished I live a little closer by so I could come here more often. We were having a lot of fun shooting the session at the Japanese Tea Garden.
This is actually my 4th time shooting engagement session at the Golden Gate Park, check out my other GGP engagement sessions!
